The RegTech100 is an annual list of 100 of the world’s most innovative RegTech companies. These are the companies every financial institution needs to know about as they consider and develop their mission critical RegTech and digital transformation strategies.
London, 14 December 2022: Financial crime intelligence start-up Schwarzthal Tech was recognised as one of the world’s most innovative solution providers among financial services firms fighting financial crime. The prestigious RegTech100 list features companies providing solutions shaping the future of compliance, risk management, information security and financial crime prevention.
This year, more companies than ever were in competition to be among the leading 100 companies in the RegTech space. A panel of analysts and industry experts voted from a list of over 1000 contenders. Schwarzthal Tech is the brainchild of Marius-Cristian Frunza, renowned expert and author of several books on the topic, including Introduction to the Theories and Varieties of Modern Crime in Financial Markets, Solving Modern Crime in Financial Markets and Value Added Tax Fraud. Marius-Cristian played a key advisory role in the production of the Netflix documentary Lords of Scam (2021), about the rise and fall of the scammers who defrauded the EU carbon quota system, in which he is also interviewed as a financial crime expert. Marius-Cristian came up with the idea for Schwarzthal Tech after witnessing first-hand how organised transnational crime networks infiltrated and abused the carbon emissions market in the 2000s, as a result of which tens of billions of dollars fell into the hands of criminals.
